3D reconstruction of an archimedean screw

The invention of this water-raising device is attributed to Archimedes.
It was used, in particular, to supply water for irrigation. The lower opening of the spiral tube wound around the axis drew the water from a canal. By rotating this device the water rose up in the spiral pipe and came out from the mouth at the top.
